TIPS FOR TAKING OUTFIT SELFIES
1. LIGHT: If you are lucky enough to have a mirror that is near a natural source of light - that is best. If that not, the next best thing is to find a spot with enough light. The light source should be in front (or above) of you and not behind. If it is behind, it will make you dark. (I recently found this app that says it is perfect for shooting pictures in dark locations - if anyone has tried it and it works, let me know. Would love to know your thoughts.)
2. POSE: Find the most natural (comfortable) pose. Some people cross their legs or put one leg out to the side (for a “fashionable” pose); however, always go with what you are most comfortable with - and works best for you.
3. MIRROR: Find a mirror that allows you to see the entire outfit. As seen in some of the examples, that does not always have to include your face. So, if you are uncomfortable showing your face, you can take an outfit selfie with your face cropped out.
4. TIMER: If you have a hard time juggling the phone and trying to press the “photo” button, try setting the timer. It cuts down on the risk of dropping the phone.
Lastly, our Daily Style Finds : What to Wear Facebook group is a very encouraging and supportive group of women - so if you feel a little apprehensive about sharing your picture, know it is a small (private) group - and the pictures will only stay in the group.
I always feel so awkward trying to take selfies in a mirror, look at the camera, look in the mirror, look at the phone...too many choices, haha.
