Pink Peonies is one of my favorite blogs.  I love Rach's classic, yet edgy style.  I daily look at her blog to see what she is wearing and for some style inspiration.  I am always tempted to buy what she is wearing.  Today I thought I would re-create a look of hers with some more budget-friendly options - like this $18 peter pan collar dress.

Happy Wednesday!  Winter white is a favorite look of mine, but I like to mix it up with a pop of color.  Caramel and cobalt blue is a favorite combo, which I think it mixes well with white. 

Also, this moto jacket is a great deal - only $28 - and the reviewers all seem to agree that it is a good deal for the money and that the leather does not look cheap - always a bonus.

What's new... It's cold outside, again!  So, today I thought I would think about warmer days and sunnier places, and put together two looks - one for the cold we are all enduring and another for warmer places (and summer!).  I love this polka dot bikini with the coral accent.  Also, these sandals are my favorite (and most comfortable) sandals.  I wore them all last summer and never had any blisters or pain - even when I walked around for hours! (I did have to size up a half size because my normal size was a little too small.)  For those in the arctic cold, here are a few things to keep you warm - a puffer jacket and fur lined boots.  Have a great weekend!

A few years ago, I got a pair of bold red pants at the Loft, which ended up hanging in my closet several months because I was afraid to wear them to work. I thought they were too bold.  I finally got up the courage to wear them after I was inspired by a look I found on how to style them.  I shouldn't have waited so long because from the first time I wore them, I have gotten compliments and others tell me how I inspire them to be daring enough to buy red pants and wear them. Recently, Emma Thompson was on the Ellen show wearing a red suit - I loved the look! It was styled perfectly and not overdone - since the red suit is bold enough on its own - it is best to keep the styling simple with neutral colors.  Just today, I found a similar suit at The Limited, and it is on SALE. You can get the entire suit for under $100, which is less than the jacket costs originally. I would definitely recommend it. This suit is traditional enough that it could be worn for a few years and would definitely transition well between seasons.

What to Wear: Winter Style

Today's look is both casual and fun - great for running errands on a Saturday.  It was inspired by a favorite style blog of mine.

I have been a big fan of Gap recently and their collections - I love their wool ombre moto jacket, boyfriend jeans, chunky knit sweater, and this camo parka…

This camo parka is a lot of fun (and right on trend with faux fur and camo print). It looks extra warm with the sherpa lining - which is removable so when it is warmer, the lining could be removed for a thinner spring/fall jacket. And, the camo parka is on sale (and if you can believe it - it is only $35! - on sale). I love these burgundy slouchy boots. I have been looking for a red pair of boots, and I like the slouchy style. I think they are more flattering because they balance the width of my hips when I am wearing skinny jeans. I love short booties, too, but sometimes, I think slouchy boots are the better choice, plus in this extremely cold weather, they keep me a little warmer around the ankles.

Hope you had a great weekend! Jackets are a favorite staple of mine, especially denim ones.  Today's look shows how you can wear a denim jacket - two ways.  The first look is a printed blouse dress, which could easily be worn in the spring/summer with flats/sandals or in the fall/winter with tights and booties.  The second look is a winter white look - with white toothpick jeans and a white dotted button down.  I am not sure you can see in the image, but there are raised dots on the top.  It used to be a fashion don't to wear white after labor day or before memorial day, but that "rule" no longer exists, and I see a lot of people wearing white throughout the year.

Hope you had a great weekend!  Plaid is a big trend this season and with a little inspiration from a few of my favorite style bloggers, I have put together a couple of looks. The first is a more casual look with the distressed denim and a mix of prints with the striped top and leopard heels. I like the mixing of prints.  The second look I have re-styled this chunky knit turtleneck from last week with a faux leather skater skirt and short booties.

Finds & Deals: Faux Fur under $60

I like how adding a fur collar to any jacket makes it look so much more polished and fun!  I got a puffer jacket a few years ago with a rabbit fur collar (like this one) and even though it is a casual jacket, it feels somewhat dressy because of the collar, plus I am always cold and the fur is very cozy and warm.  And, if you find a coat with a detachable collar it is easy to pin it to another coat, like the denim coat below (or like Rach from Pink Peonies in the first picture - she took the fur collar from the tweed jacket (second picture) and pinned in on the camel coat).

This utility jacket is a great deal - only $25 (Code: Extra30). If you follow Pinterest Told Me To, this jacket reminds me of the military jacket Sheaffer highly recommends.  

I have been really surprised by the quality of sweaters I have gotten for really cheap at Forever 21.  I never used to shop there because I thought I was too old, and that it was a store was just cheap tops and tight (short) mini skirts, plus the store overwhelmed me!  But, recently, I bought a few things like this shaggy black sweater with zippers (for only $30) and this other shaggy blue sweater (for a really good deal of only $11) and I have gotten more compliments on them, than sweaters I paid twice the price for (and not as great of quality).  So, check out Forever 21...
