This look is my combination of a few days of the style challenge - dark jeans, layered top/sweater, and animal print shoes (but I swapped out snake print for the leopard this time).

A big trend this season is the two-in-one sweater/top combo.  This is actually two separates, but I love this trend.  I think it is fun, yet classy.  I scored this sweater for $11 at Express, and somehow I got these shoes on a super sale for only $34 at Nine West.  I love the snake/black combo with the gold plate. This is my favorite look of the week.

Day 14 of the style challenge consisted of a striped tee, dark jeans, and leopard shoes.  I opted to go without the military/field jacket (but if you are looking for one - this one is 30% off!).

Day 12 consisted of neutral sweater, black jeans, leopard shoes, and a burgundy handbag.  I swapped out the burgundy moto jacket for the handbag.  I got this jacket at Forever 21 ($38) - and it is great quality.  I can't wait to wear it more this fall/winter. A look at what I would buy for Day 12 of the Style Challenge.  The look was to include: gray denim, sweatshirt (like this fun fuzzy one), short booties, and black handbag. I swapped out a sweater for the sweatshirt and gray cords for the denim.  I added the leopard coat because I really liked this leopard coat I found at H&M and I wanted to share it. It is a great price and perfect way to bring the whole look together.  If you like leopard print, and have been a little hesitant to give it a try, I recommend trying to introduce it through accessories (like a scarf or belt) or shoes or go for the jacket!  I don't think you will regret it.

I bought this sweater at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale. It was a splurge, and I hesitated buying it (even with the 40% off), but I am so happy that I did because it has become one of my favorite sweaters. It is extremely soft, warm, and great quality (and great for cold nights at football nights).  I have worn it several times this year, and it still looks brand new.  It hasn't gotten fuzzy or pilled like so many of my wool sweaters typically do.  If you are looking for a warm, cozy sweater, I definitely recommend it (and I would watch - it might go on sale!).

Styling Tip:  I wanted to mention how much I love my OTK boots.  They are great for wearing over jeans with comfy sweaters, but I have been wearing them with longer pencil skirts for work.  It elongates the look, especially for those of us with shorter legs.

I started shopping at Forever 21 a couple years ago (when I was several years past the age of 21), when I found this awesome white blazer for $25 - it was lined and just as nice of quality as something I could have paid $100 for.  I have found some great finds - like this moto jacket for a fraction of the cost at another store.  And, depending on what you are looking for you don't have to be 21 (or near that) to wear it!

This look is a modification from Day Seven of the Style Challenge, which was gray denim, striped tee, cardigan, and leopard flats.  I swapped out the stripes and cardigan for fuzzy black sweater.  I like pattern mixing, but there is something fun about an all black look with a pop of color in the leopard shoes. And, if you can tell, I love these leopard shoes!

Shopping Tip: I bought this Express sweater on sale. I never pay full price because Express always has some type of promotion going on, and they typically allow you to stack promotions. So, for this sweater, it was 40% off, plus another $15 off of $30, so I ended up paying $38 for a $88 sweater - far more reasonable price.  Since stores are continually putting items on sale - my recommendation is that if you aren’t sure - wait a few days, because you probably can get a better deal...

The fall leaves are so colorful right now. The bright reddish, orange ones are my favorite, and I have a feeling they only have a short time left before they will all be off the tree. Luckily, it stopped raining on Sunday, and I was able to get out and enjoy the fall colors and get a few pictures taken at the same time.  This look is a modification of Day Six from my style challenge.  I went for my slouchy boots instead of riding, and for a neutral sweater went with my comfy, cable knit sweater.  I am so happy they are making a comeback.  I especially like this turtleneck one.

I am participating in a Fall Style Me Pretty challenge with Alison Lumbatis.  This is my look for Day One.  The look was to include a striped tee, boyfriend jeans, and short booties.  I opted for leopard print instead of the suede solid color and swapped out rolled skinny jeans for boyfriend jeans. (I have not found a pair of boyfriend jeans that I like - still looking... any suggestions???...) Over the next couple weeks (the challenge is for 21 days), I will be posting different looks from my own closet.  And, weather permitting (if it would stop raining...), I plan to get outside and take some pictures of what I am wearing for this challenge.  The leaves are so pretty right now and would be a perfect backdrop.

Well, here goes. I have finally decided to post pictures of what I am wearing.  I have followed style bloggers for years, and have had my own blog for some time, and what I like best about the blogs is being able to see what others are wearing.  So, I am sharing my style perspective from a blogger who is no longer in her twenties or thirties, but who has now entered her forties.  Hopefully those of you my age, and those younger and older can gather some inspiration from my style.

My sweet mom is helping me out as photographer.  (And, as all bloggers know - taking pictures is not an easy task - and given this was our first attempt and some camera issues - I think we did okay.)

I am a sale shopper.  Everything in this look I bought on sale - anywhere from 30-70% off.  I love finding great deals at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Piperlime, The Limited, etc.  I like to buy on sale, but I also like to invest in things that I will have for many seasons.  For this look, I layered a vest over a leather jacket, which is great because I can wear the vest and jacket separately or paired together and get three different looks out of it. (Also, this leather jacket is one of my favorites, so it will probably show up on its own in a future post.)

I hope you follow along as I post different things I am wearing over the next coming weeks / months  / years.  Plus, I am working on a new venture - which I will be talking more about in the coming months.
