I love this picture on the old style NY subway car. The seats are all mostly blue now, but some of them are still the orange. It is my good memories from the days I spent living in the West Village one summer going to Parsons. (And, if you are new to my blog - you can read more about this experience HERE.)

Happy Friday!
I spent WAAAAYYYYY too much time on this post! I got sucked into looking at all the fashion bloggers outfits for NYFW - and was having fun looking at all the trends - in real life. There were so many trends that I saw on repeat from several fashion bloggers - that I thought it would be fun to showcase them in a post for some fall style inspiration.
Plaid definitely was a trend on repeat. I saw plaid pants, plaid blazers, and plaid mini skirts. The plaid mini skirt styled with an off white top - was definitely popular. I believe the more dainty fine-lined plaid is going to be a big hit this fall.
Another popular trend that is still going strong is Gucci belts. The designer Gucci belts styled with either a long, floral dress or an animal print dress or skirt was the "go to" way to style it.
Animal print - especially snakeskin was also popular. There were snakeskin dresses and skirts, and also snakeskin booties styled with a sweater dress or ribbed knit skirt and a classic moto jacket.
Rocker tees with mini skirts - or just retro rocker tees in general were very popular. It is a bit funny to me because these girls are wearing the tees that people actually bought at the real concert back in my day. Now, these retro tees are just licensed copies that Nordstrom and your other big box stores are selling.
One thing for sure - pink was everywhere! Especially in the form of a wrap dress.
An all white top and pant outfit was seen on a few style bloggers. I love that look with the white satin pants and the tied white blouse with the black jacket over the shoulder look. As far as white looks, one of my favorites was this one. It sort of made me laugh - and then a little sad because most of the middle-aged business men that she refers to as "somewhat old" are probably my age.
Sneakers with a skirt, and even a sparkly sequin skirt was seen a lot.
Some of the most unique favorites would be the pleated black midi, and this plaid blouse look. I really love the uniqueness and style of Anna Page. She styled some of my favorite looks from NYFW. I really think she has a unique point of view and creates her own style.
One day, I would love to attend fashion week. I have followed NYFW for years. I am always intrigued by the shows and new styles. The runway shows and street style inspire me - and give me ideas for things I would want to create.

This was soooo FUN. I hadn’t seen much from NYFW so it was fun to see all these in one place, thank you for all your hard work. Anna Page is awesome and so are you!
ReplyDeleteI have to pin this Lisa, you did such a great job putting this together. I love these trends and can see myself trying to incorporate these looks into my style! I thought the first one with the floral maxi dress was my favorite but then as I went on I kept finding other looks I loved too! Thanks for all of your hard work and time!

What a fun recap of NYFW Lisa! I saw a few of these in my LTK app feed, but it's really fun to see them in a more organized by-the-trend format. And LOL, I'd be with you on the "middle-aged men" boat. I keep getting older, meanwhile Influencers keep getting younger as new ones enter the scene!
ReplyDeletewow! Lisa you did a great job pulling together a great overview of NYFW! Love the animal prints and all things snakeskin!
ReplyDeleteDonna
These are really fabulous dear! Can't go wrong with animal prints, especially snakeskin and leopard print.

I love how they're all wearing their jackets on their shoulders. This is my fave post you've ever done.
