I feel like the weeks are flying by. All the leaves are just starting to change - and it is really starting to feel like fall. I hope fall hangs on for a long time - I am not quite ready for winter weather just yet. I do love sweaters and boots - but a few more warm fall days would be okay.
I thought I would share some of my favorites from the fall boot collection in my closet. You may noticed a trend. I have four pairs of the Sam Edelman Winona booties. I have to say I am thankful because I only paid for the white ones. The other three I got through promotional deals and sponsorships. Also, one thing is for sure, I never pay full price for boots - because EVERYTHING goes on sale! All of these boots I bought on sale. I found those two ankle booties during a promotional sale at Sam Edelman - they were both only $48! And, several of the others I found on Nordstrom Rack.
I should also mention that I have become very picky about what I buy - and only buy comfortable boots. I try to stay with a 2-3 inch heel for comfort (and style). Any more than a 3 inch heel, and I can't walk as quickly in them. Any less than 2 inches, and they don't give me the height I am looking for. Since I am only 5'5' - I like to be a little taller.
As far as comfort, the Winona booties are really comfortable. That is probably why I have bought more than one pair. I know my husband makes fun of me for buying more than one of something - but I really just think it is what girls do - or at least me. Anyone else do this?
FIVE IMPORTANT TIPS WHEN SHOPPING
When it comes to shopping, it is easy to impulse buy and end up with something that does not fit, is too trendy, does not coordinate with what you already have in your closet, or is just something you do not feel comfortable wearing. Here are some tips to help you make wiser and more strategic shopping decisions.
#1 Cost vs Wear
One of the most important things to consider when buying something new is how many times you will wear the item and what it costs. You want to compare the overall cost to the amount of wear. An expensive item that will not be worn that often is not a good investment; however, if you will wear it often for many seasons, then that is a better investment.
#2 Comfort
Another thing to consider is how comfortable the item is to wear. If it is something that does not fit or you are not comfortable, then do not buy it. If you have to make justifications, then do not buy it. If the item is not a “wow” or you “love it” right from the moment you try it on, then it is not worth the money. Those items will most likely end up taking up closet space - and never get worn.
#3 Quality
It is important to consider the quality of an item. If it something that is not made well and will not hold up after washing, then it is not worth the money - even if it is really cheap. It is easy to buy things that do not cost a lot, but end up getting tossed because they fell apart.
#4 Coordinates + Versatile
When buying something new it is important to consider how the item will coordinate with the other items in your closet. If it something that will not match anything you own and you have to buy something else to go with it, then it might not be the wisest decision. You want to buy versatile items that you can mix and match with items that already exist in your closet.
#5 Trendy vs Classic
Trends come and go - and some very quickly. When buying a trendy item - consider the cost and think about how many times you will wear it before it is out of style. Classic pieces are some of the best staple pieces. They are items that you can wear over multiple seasons - and will not go out of style.
This week flew by - I can't believe it is the end of the week already. All I know is that it is starting to feel like fall. The weather has gotten cooler - and the leaves are starting to fall.
I love fall - it is one of my favorite times of the year. I want to learn to enjoy it even more. In life it is so easy to focus on the future - instead of today. We can fall into the trap of fretting about the future or worrying about something that might happen. We need to learn to be thankful for today - and appreciate it.
I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. It is starting to feel like fall - and as much as I am looking forward to fall clothes - I also can't wait to decorate for fall.
This fall outfit has been one of my top pins on Pinterest lately. This fall outfit pinthat is one of my favorites has also been a close second and very popular.

I have to document this because it is insane how poor the customer service is at Apple. Their lack of acknowledgement of problems - and follow through - is proving to me that they are not an honorable company that stands behind their products or service.
I was very hopeful last week when I finally had a breakthrough. The senior advisor I spoke with said that the problem I have been having is with a faulty hard drive. I could not believe it - what I had been saying for the last nine months - someone finally acknowledged.
After some back and forth conversation with the advisor - he agreed to put in a request to allow me to return this lemon of a machine and buy a new one. I was supposed to receive an approval with legal documents within 24 hours, which would have been last Thursday afternoon. As of Friday, I had not heard anything, so I emailed the advisor. As of Monday, still no word, so emailed him again. As of today, I have not heard anything.
Since this process does not seem to be moving along, and my machine is so pitiful - my husband suggested that we buy an external drive - and install the operating system on it - so that I can run my my machine from the external drive.
This is only a temporary solution - but nothing like setting up a machine for the bajillionth time - and having to spend an unnecessary $60 - just to use my iMAC. I am so tired of setting up my machine - installing Office, Creative Cloud, preferences, logins, and all the many more things you do. I have arranged my dock - and removed and added applications too many times...
I really do not understand the lack of support. I wish Apple would not make empty promises - and instead be a company of integrity - a company that follows through on what they say - and does not frustrate customers - by making them jump through endless hoops. If they would just admit this computer is a "lemon" and give me a new computer.
I am loosing hope - and the excitement I felt last week in anticipation of possibly getting a new machine that worked is waning. I want to anticipate good news today, but as more time elapses with no word, I have a feeling I will be calling and sitting on just one more long phone call - rehashing everything I have already talked about many, many, many, many, many times before.
Happy first day of September! Where did August go?!?
