Five Things About Me

fall outfit style blogger striped fuzzy cardigan

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend.  I spent part of my weekend shopping for home decor.  I finally decided I needed some help picking out artwork.  Minted has this service where you send pictures of you home - and they pick out artwork.  It was helpful to get an outside perspective.  I am looking at this abstract picture for above the sofa, and this one above our fireplace. And, this picture - which is one of my favorites - for above our white sofa.

Also, today, I thought it would be fun to share five things about me today.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT ME

#1: I have an undergraduate degree in Biology.  I have always had a fascination with science, so much I asked for a microscope for Christmas one year. I also picked biology because it was a challenging major. I didn't know what I wanted to do with the degree, so I took a mix of classes in environmental science, pre-med, and biochemistry.

#2: For my "day" job, I am a Digital Product Manager.  I have done this job for over 20 years.  As the title says, I manage digital products.  I have worked with a major publishing company for many years - developing educational products.  In this last year, as colleges have moved to remote learning - the products we develop have become even more important and in demand.

#3: A few years back, I spent part of my summer in NYC studying fashion design at Parsons.  It was one of the best experiences. It was challenging - and so rewarding.  I will always treasure the time I spent in NYC.  When I was in NYC I rented this AirBnb place in the West Village.  And, you can read more about my designs that I created and my experience.

#4: I got my one and only speeding ticket on this road nicknamed - Devil's Backbone - when I was in college.  You can see in the picture the speed limit of 35 mph.  Well, when I came over the hill at 50 mph - I was met by a cop - and I didn't have much wiggle room to get out of that one.

#5:  I was a cheerleader in high school.  One of my favorite part of cheering was not the actual cheering part - but dancing.  We didn't have a dance team - so when the band played at the football game - we danced.  I still love to watch choreographed "hip hop" dances - and this is a favorite.  When I hear 'hip hop" songs I still think of different moves that I could choreograph to the music.

  4. Loved learning more about you! We have a few similarities! I, too, develop educational products and I was a cheerleader in high school! (But I don’t love hip hop!) That’s a beautiful road!

  6. Thanks for sharing these fun details. I too have only gotten one speeding ticket- I was on my way home from freshman year of college. I cheered in high school and after 29 years I can still remember the dance moves we did to "Proud Mary" lol.
