I hope you had a great weekend.  Over the weekend, I bought a new book that journals a woman's love of spending time at a cabin by a lake.  In reading this woman's journal, I felt like I was reading my own words.  A dream of mine would be to one day own a cabin by a lake.  I grew up going to a lake in the summer - living in a tiny cottage.  There is nothing better than getting away from everything - and the quietness of sitting by a lake.  I love the stillness where I can sit peacefully for hours.

Here is an except from the book I bought - which pretty much sums up my thoughts about lake life at a cabin...

"For every man or woman who dreams of getting away from it all on a tropical island with lush foliage and trade winds, there are just as many people who hear the call of the wild and dream of a cabin in the woods...  

Why the love of a lake and woods?  I will say it is the colors of the lake water as the sun turns the surface into the millions of diamond ripples.  I will say it is lying in bed at night listening to the splashes of frogs in the swamp pond behind the house.  I will say it is the pleasing sights and sounds and smells of lake life.  In the stillness of evening, I hear the friendly cicadas..."
